7.F. Fallacy of Mindfulness

“Nothing is so firmly believed as what we least know.” – Michel de Montaigne

Mindfulness is fallacy. Fallacy is truth. Truth is all and nothing and can bring life amidst entropy. There is no overcoming, there is no development, there is only deepening humility against the deep mindfuck of the expanse. Mind full, mind empty; both are false binaries that prevent the value of a mind in the simultaneous spectrum of distress and calm, spinning endlessly. Rather, release to temporary moments of practiced forgetfulness untangled from thoughts of not now and never was.

An array of nonphysical models can predict certain forces and trends. Scale by tens or completely change the lens. This gray. Say its name. Or of the plane overhead? Those forces and trends. What are they? Could they change the wind? Or your shape? Choice is as orderly as often as the reverse is true. There is you. Like the two pieces of leather stitched together to make the outside of a baseball sphere hurtling through the space of a moment like now between you and the sun amongst countless other spheres on unpredictable trajectories, they may inflect negatively on your own. Your pain and your joys tumble through the air. No one cares. Climb up to a seam, and agents of change await your plans. Plan again.

Present and reactionary in aural conversation with the observable environment one finds oneself in, the improviser seeks to remain dynamically engaged in the change, adapting to ever-shifting equilibria. This now cannot exist independently from the other not nows. The interdependence is a tangled web of intangible threads, though not weft knitted, the yarns can create runs if pulled too forcefully in any one direction, defeating their elasticity. The improviser is not concerned about the yarn; he wraps himself in the blanket.

Can the principles of a theoretical framework stay intact and maintain their conceptual integrity when stressed and stretched by the complexities of practical application? Flexibility of the blanket might not suffice, but rather a fluidity that, like water, finds its way around under and over obstacles. This repeated diversion causes friction against a stationary object, slowly eroding and allowing for the more expansive possibilities of application of framework. Limits exist on the elasticity of integrity, release your convictions.

There is an opportunity for an ethical framework that is built from a blurred art/life improvisational practice that starts with a nonmaleficence, real-time interaction and communication grounded in empathetic listening that moves towards beneficence, a desire for a sum beauty greater than its parts. The beauty is the synthesis of multiple consciousnesses of others and elsewheres, not a movement toward “self-awareness” which relies on the fallacy of individuality as capable of active divorce from molecular collectivism.
